Cabo Verde airline may open new route to Brazil

Cape Verdean airline TACV plans to start flying to Maceio, the capital of Alagoas state in Brazil, reported Cape Verdean weekly newspaper A Semana.

The newspaper also reported that TACV, which has been flying for 14 years to the city of Fortaleza, the state capital of Ceará, based on growing interest in Brazilian destinations decided to open up a route to Recife, enhancing its commitment to the Brazilian market.

The possibility of opening a new route was discussed at a meeting between the Secretary of Tourism of Maceió, Jair Galvão and the Consul of Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) in Recife, Ricardo Galdino.

Galvão said at the time that, in addition to increasing tourist flow and different types of business with Africa, this international flight would establish an air link with the cities of Lisbon (Portugal), Paris (France) and Amsterdam (Netherlands).

The meeting was attended by representatives of the diplomatic agencies of Cabo Verde in Brazil, the president of Cabo Verde Investimentos, José Armando Duarte, and the president of the Port of Recife, Olávio Lima. (macauhub/BR/CV)
