Trade between China and Portuguese-speaking countries rose in January 2012 totals US$9.262 billion

Trade between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries, in January 2012, totalled US$9.262 billion, representing a rise of US$943 million or 11 percent against the same period of 2011 (US$8.319 million), and a drop of US$653 million or 7 percent on the previous month (US$9.915 million), according to figures from China’s Customs Service
issued in Macau.

China’s imports from Portuguese-speaking countries totalled US$6.087 billion, a rise of 12 percent against the same period of 2011 and a drop of 12 percent on the previous month, whilst China’s exports to Portuguese-speaking countries totalled US$3.175 billion, a rise of 9 percent against the same period of 2011 and 6 percent on the previous month.

Brazil remained China’s biggest trading partner amongst the Portuguese-speaking countries with trade totalling US$633.856 million, followed by Angola with US$249.171 billion and Portugal with US$32.751 million.

Mozambique was the fourth-largest trading partner amongst the Portuguese-speaking countries with estimated trade totalling US$8.6 million followed by East Timor (US$1.2 million), Cape Verde (US$388,000 and Guinea Bissau (US$154,000).

Trade between China and Portuguese-speaking countries rose in 2011 totalled US$117.230 billion. (macauhub)
