Angola available to receive troubled Portuguese companies

Luanda, Angola, 19 Jan – Angola’s Economy minister, Abraão Gourgel, said Tuesday in Luanda that Angola was open to small and medium-sized Portuguese companies that wanted to set themselves up in the country.

In an interview with Portuguese state television Rádio e Televisão Portuguesa (RTP), at the end of a meeting with the Portugal’s deputy minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Miguel Relvas, Gourgel noted that Angola was available to receive Portuguese companies from any area of production, that were at risk of bankruptcy in Portugal.

“We are available to welcome small and medium-sized Portuguese companies that want to go to Angola to invest in areas such as telecommunications, industry, energy, water, transport and others that will surely contribute to the country’s development and growth of the national economy,” he noted.

Gourgel recognised the potential of certain Portuguese companies, many of which are feeling the effects of the European economic crisis. (macauhub)
