Angolan capital, Luanda to have seven more shopping centres in 2012

Luanda, Angola, 4 Nov – The city of Luanda will have seven more shopping centres in 2012 as a result of opportunities created by road restructuring and expansion of the real estate market, according to a study on the prospects for the sector from 2011 to 2014 published Thursday.

The report, put together by US financial and real estate auditing company Jones Lang LaSalle, said that these projects were also the result of new policies for the social and economic stability of the country and the existence of natural resources that make reconstruction of the country easier.

The new shopping centres are Luanda Park, Luanda Shopping, Ginga Shopping, Centro Comercial Kinaxixi, Shopping Fortaleza, Muxima Plaza and Viana Park, which, according to Angolan news agency Angop will be built in the areas of Luanda Sul, Avenida Comandante Gika, Quilómetro 9, Largo do Kinaxixi, Marginal de Luanda, Largo Lumeji and Viana Industrial Zone, respectively.

The study said that promoting these large-scale projects with international characteristics aimed to respond to strong demand for retail services, as well as the growing economic development of the city. (macauhub)
